Fibrous bundles are circular in TS, their diameter varies from 20–30 µm (with 5 to 10 cells) to > 200 µm with more than 250 cells (only in Phytelephas Ruiz & Pav.). These fibrous bundles are sometimes more developed in the basal part of the stem than in the apical part.
